About Bisho-98
Bisho-98 is a curated shop and archive dedicated to Japanese bishoujo and eroge culture from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s.
It is run by a solo curator with a focus on preserving and sharing a physical era of PC and print media that helped shape a unique and influential subculture.
Every item in the store is original and over 20 years old. The selection includes PC-98 games and software, magazines, posters, laserdiscs, and other rare material. These are not reproductions or reprints, but authentic pieces from a time when distribution was limited and much of this culture existed in a more contained and ephemeral form.
Owning these items is about more than collecting. Each piece represents a small part of a larger history. They were meant to be used, displayed, read, and experienced. Bisho-98 exists to give them a second life, where they can be appreciated, preserved, and passed on.
Alongside the shop, the site also functions as a growing archive and learning resource. Sold items are documented and kept as part of a digital record, helping preserve material that might otherwise disappear over time. The goal is also to provide context by exploring developers, publishers, magazines, and the creative landscape that defined the era.
Whether you are a collector, a researcher, or simply curious, Bisho-98 is a place to discover, learn, and connect with this corner of media history.
